A brief History of our Ministry and
Vision:
BEFORE JESUS . . .
|
Thirty-nine years of physical and emotional illness had stifled my will to live. I had attempted suicide more than three times, and, once again, death was looking like the only solution -- the only escape from the hell I was living in. I was "without hope and without God in the world." That was my state of mind when both corneas were cut by my contact lenses in May, 1979. This was a serious injury that threatened my eyesight. At this critical time, my Christian supervisor sent me some healing tapes and phoned to tell me to watch a T.V. program called "The 700 Club." Though I was heavily drugged and in great pain, I turned on the television and as the host, Pat Robertson, prayed Jesus Christ healed both my eyes. All the pain, throbbing and running stopped instantly. I did not understand what happened but I kept watching "The 700 Club" and Jesus revealed Himself to me. I had always called myself a "Christian" but finally realized I did not have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. (If I had died then, I would really have known what hell was.) Just past midnight, May 27, 1979, I cried out to the Lord to save me and come into my life. As tears freely flowed, I experienced the redeeming, cleansing Love of God and KNEW miraculously, that all my illnesses were completely healed by the Power of God. Just hours after being born again, I found the church that my supervisor attended and I went forward to receive the "Baptism with the Holy Spirit." Although I had never heard of this Gift before, I did receive with evidence of speaking in other tongues, according to the Scriptural pattern. On August 25, 1979, in obedience to the Word of God, I was baptized in water. Save, healed and filled with God's Holy Spirit - I really began to live at thirty-nine! |
A CALL:

|
In August 1979, the Lord showed me His plan for me to attend Rhema Bible Training Center, Tulsa, OK. It was such an incredible idea, I told no one for nearly a year. I was hungry for God's Word. I studied, prayed and taught each week in Children's Ministry of the church I attended. I was happier than I ever thought possible. A VISION: "Taking the Light of Life" to those who sit in darkness. In December 1980, the Lord planted the "seed" for this ministry to the lost within me. During a personal insight into the spirit realm, I experienced the desperation, pain and hopelessness of those without Jesus and I knew the Lord was calling me to serve in a full-time ministry. I was willing!
THE MISSION: Since November 1983, I have been "preaching, teaching and healing in the Name of Jesus Christ" in India, Republic of South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Botswana, Great Britain, the Philippine Islands and the USA. I have ministered to the Body of Christ and trained nationals called to the five-fold ministry all over the world In 1987, I began holding outdoor
"Miracle-Healing Crusades" to reach the lost. Evangelism and preaching the
"Good News" will always be the major thrust of LIGHT OF THE WORLD
MINISTRY. |

In March 1990, over 3,000

In 1992, our first Phase

classrooms and staff housing. This group also included our first
Night School class of Phase I to receive their Completion

1999 Alumni meeting at our new building in Bacolod. Over 80 alumni attended. Unfortunately, many graduates are not able to attend every Alumni gathering but we love to see them! Jesus Christ said, "The field is the world" and I'm going to plant the Word of God, which is the "incorruptible seed" into that field and put in the sickle for the harvest of souls. God's Word can produce a harvest as quickly as it is sown because it is "seed," "light," and "water." All we are called to do is "plant" and "harvest" - the Holy Spirit does the redeeming work! We invite you to join with us through your prayers and financial support as we take His Light to the saved and unsaved people all over the world. There is no distance in the spirit realm, so as you lift up Light of the World Ministry, we will be aware of your intercession and draw strength from you. In a very real sense, you will be ministering WITH us! Write to me for more information about this
world outreach. I would like to send you our pictorial quarterly
newsletter. To become a financial partner in our work and ministry, send
your tax deductible contributions to our stateside, permanent
office: 354 Christopher Avenue

Rev. Victoria (Vicky) Bon has been with our ministry since April 1, 1988! She has been such a faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord. She graduated from our Bible Training Center in 1998 and, literally runs our office operations in the Philippines. Vicky is single and in addition to being a loyal and conscientious worker, she is my closest friend in the Philippines. (Shown above at the party celebrating her 12th anniversary of employment with LOTWM!) Sister Vicky has truly given her life to the Lord and to the service of Light of the World Ministry. She is a wonderful example of a surrendered and committed "Handmaiden of the Lord." |

Rev. Albert Jo and his wife, Marilou, are both graduates of our training center. Rev. Jo is the Director of our Bible Training Center and our Outreach Ministries which include two Jail Ministry Outreaches each week. He also teaches many courses in the Training Center. Bro. Albert has three daughters, shown above, Marial Elycia, Gracielle Pauline and his youngest, Rinnah Louise. Rev. Jo is also a medical doctor, although he has had no active medical practice for a few years. Bro. Albert was in the first batch of students. He joined us in full time service in January 1999 but was on our faculty for several years prior to that and always helped us in every way he could. His wife, Marilou, is one of our part time faculty and teaches several classes each school year. We praise God for such willing and able vessels and that He sent them to us! |

These shining faces belong to the rest of our ministry staff in Bacolod. From left to right, back row: Rev. Danilo Yanga, an alumnus working with LOTWM for 4 years; Bro. Albert Catiter, Phase 2 live-in student who joined our ministry as an employee 4/1/2000; Bro. Rey Roquero who became an employee 12/01/97. In the front row, left to right, recent graduate, Sis. Frelin Pesanon, who was a live-in student during her training and became a full time employee 2/04/2000; alumnus, Grace Macopobre joined LOTWM staff 11/01/97; Ruth Angeles, newly graduated, has worked for LOTWM on and off for several years and most recently since 9/01/99. These fine Christian workers are so gifted and most of them work in our Children's, Jail, and Crusade outreaches. They also help keep up our facilities. We praise God for them. Please, write and share YOUR
miracles with us. |
